Zero-Tolerance Policy
To protect the safety, wellbeing and professionalism of every learner and instructor, Britannia Elite enforces a strict zero-tolerance standard. Any breach of the rules set out below results in immediate suspension from training and removal from the premises, with further action depending on the severity of the incident.
When and where this policy applies
These rules apply from the moment a learner arrives on site and remain in force throughout the entire duration of training, including accommodation, communal areas and any associated activity. Britannia Elite is a UK-governed training and accreditation body; programmes are delivered at an approved centre in Uganda, and this policy is applied consistently with both UK governance standards and the law of Uganda.
Adult learners. This policy is written for adult learners. Where any learner is under 18, the Safeguarding Policy takes precedence and additional protections apply.
Conduct that is strictly forbidden
The following are forbidden under all circumstances. The list is not exhaustive; any conduct that endangers the safety, dignity or wellbeing of others may be treated as a breach.
Drugs & Alcohol
- Possession, use, or being under the influence of illegal drugs
- Misuse of prescription or controlled medication (legitimate, declared medical use is permitted)
- Consumption or possession of alcohol on the premises
Sexual Harassment & Indecency
- Any form of unwanted sexual behaviour, advance or request
- Inappropriate comments, gestures or physical contact
- Indecent exposure or conduct that compromises dignity or safety
Accommodation & Restricted Areas

- Entering staff-only or restricted areas without authorisation
- Tampering with security, access or safety arrangements

- Any object that could cause harm or intimidation
Violence or Threatening Behaviour
- Physical aggression of any kind
- Threats, intimidation or attempts to provoke confrontation
- Behaviour that endangers others
Gambling
- Any form of betting, wagering or gambling on the premises
Lending or Borrowing of Personal Items
- Money, valuables or personal equipment between learners
- Prevents disputes, coercion and financial pressure
Unlawful, Indecent or Prohibited Material
- Explicit or indecent images
- Material that demeans, degrades or targets individuals or groups
- Violent, graphic or disturbing content intended to shock or intimidate
- Any digital or printed media that breaches professional standards
Religious Hostility
- Conduct that provokes hostility, discrimination or targeted aggression on the basis of religion or belief
Political Hostility & Coercion
- Attempts to provoke, pressure or coerce others into political conflict, hostility or discriminatory behaviour
Immediate suspension & removal
Any breach of this policy results in:
- Immediate suspension from the course
- Removal from the training environment
- A formal, factual record of the incident
- Temporary or permanent exclusion, depending on the outcome of the inquiry
This protects the safety and integrity of the training environment for everyone on site.
Fair process & right of response
Suspension is a protective measure, not a finding of guilt. Every learner who is suspended is given a fair opportunity to give their account before any final decision on exclusion is taken, and may be accompanied during that process.
Learners who disagree with a decision may use the formal route set out in the Complaints, Appeals & Malpractice Policy.
Internal inquiry
Every suspension triggers an internal review to establish:
- What occurred
- Who was involved
- Whether the learner can continue
- Whether permanent removal is required
The final decision is made to protect the safety, professionalism and integrity of the course, and is recorded in writing.
Employer notification
Where training is employer-funded or employer-mandated, and subject to the data-protection terms below, Britannia Elite will:
- Notify the employer of the suspension
- Provide a factual summary of the incident
- Confirm whether the learner is eligible to return or re-enrol
This ensures transparency and professional accountability. Learners are told at enrolment when and how incident information may be shared with a sponsoring employer.
Law enforcement involvement
Where an incident involves conduct that threatens the safety of people on site — including violence, credible threats, weapons, or the supply of illegal drugs — Britannia Elite will involve law enforcement and will provide evidence and statements as required to support any external investigation.
In all cases the company acts strictly within applicable law and its duty-of-care obligations, and consistently with its commitment to internationally recognised human-rights standards (the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and the ICoCA Code of Conduct).
Records & personal data
Incident records contain personal data. Britannia Elite processes that data for the legitimate purposes of safeguarding, training governance and accreditation, and handles it in line with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, and with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019.
Records are kept factual, held securely, retained only as long as necessary, and shared only where there is a lawful basis to do so — for example with a sponsoring employer, an awarding body, or law enforcement. Learners have the right to request access to their own records and to ask that inaccurate information be corrected.
Raising a concern
Anyone who experiences or witnesses a breach of this policy — including bullying, harassment or sexual harassment — can report it in confidence to a member of training staff or by email to info@britannia-elite.co.uk (CEO-monitored). Every report is taken seriously, handled discreetly through a defined process, and no one is penalised for reporting in good faith.
This policy works alongside the Safeguarding Policy, the Bullying & Harassment Policy, the Complaints, Appeals & Malpractice Policy and the Data Protection policy. For questions about this policy, contact Britannia Elite Ltd, 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE — info@britannia-elite.co.uk.
