
Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct establishes the standards of professional behaviour, integrity, and ethical practice required of all individuals representing Britannia Elite. It ensures that all staff, instructors, contractors, and learners uphold the organisation’s values, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and contribute to safe, respectful, and rights‑based environments.
The Code supports compliance with the UK Equality Act 2010, the Human Rights Act 1998, Uganda’s constitutional protections, safeguarding legislation, and international human rights standards.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:
- Employees, instructors, consultants, and contractors
- Learners and programme participants
- Volunteers, visitors, and partner organisations
- All training sites, operational environments, and digital platforms
- All activities conducted under the Britannia Elite brand
Compliance with this Code is mandatory.
3. Expected Standards of Behaviour
All individuals must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects Britannia Elite’s values of professionalism, integrity, respect, and accountability.
Professionalism
- Maintain high standards of conduct, competence, and reliability.
- Perform duties responsibly, safely, and in accordance with organisational policies.
- Present oneself appropriately and uphold the reputation of Britannia Elite at all times.
Integrity
- Act honestly and transparently in all interactions.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and declare any potential conflicts immediately.
- Never misuse organisational resources, authority, or confidential information.
Respect
- Treat all individuals with dignity, fairness, and courtesy.
- Value diversity and avoid discriminatory, offensive, or exclusionary behaviour.
- Promote inclusive, safe, and supportive environments.
Accountability
- Take responsibility for actions and decisions.
- Report concerns, misconduct, or breaches of policy promptly.
- Cooperate fully with investigations and organisational processes.
4. Conduct in Training and Operational Environments
Britannia Elite requires all staff and learners to uphold the highest standards of behaviour during training, assessments, and operational activities.
Training Delivery
- Instructors must model ethical, lawful, and respectful behaviour.
- Training must be delivered without bias, intimidation, or discrimination.
- Learners must engage respectfully and follow all safety instructions.
Safety and Welfare
- Unsafe behaviour, negligence, or disregard for safety protocols is prohibited.
- Individuals must report hazards, incidents, or risks immediately.
- Safeguarding responsibilities must be upheld at all times.
Use of Equipment and Facilities
- Equipment must be used safely, responsibly, and only for authorised purposes.
- Facilities must be treated with care and kept in good condition.
- Damage, misuse, or unauthorised access is prohibited.
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action or removal from programmes:
- Physical, emotional, or psychological abuse
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or coercion
- Discrimination based on protected characteristics or identity
- Sexual misconduct or inappropriate behaviour
- Fraud, theft, or misuse of organisational property
- Substance misuse that impairs safety or performance
- Breaches of confidentiality or data protection
- Dishonesty, deception, or falsification of records
- Retaliation against individuals who raise concerns
- Any conduct that violates safeguarding, human rights, or legal standards
6. Digital Conduct
All individuals must use digital systems responsibly and lawfully.
- Protect passwords, accounts, and confidential information.
- Do not access, share, or store inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content.
- Use organisational systems only for authorised purposes.
- Maintain professionalism in all digital communications.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Individuals must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with organisational duties.
- Declare any potential conflict immediately.
- Do not use organisational position for personal gain.
- Do not engage in activities that compromise impartiality or integrity.
8. Reporting Misconduct
Concerns, breaches, or misconduct must be reported promptly.

- Logged and acknowledged
- Investigated fairly, promptly, and confidentially
- Addressed with appropriate corrective action
No individual will face retaliation for raising concerns in good faith.
9. Disciplinary Action
Breaches of this Code may result in:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Suspension or removal from training
- Termination of employment or contract
- Revocation of certification or access
- Referral to regulatory or law‑enforcement authorities
Disciplinary decisions will be proportionate, documented, and aligned with organisational procedures.
10. Monitoring & Review
This Code will be:
- Reviewed annually by senior leadership
- Updated to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational changes
- Strengthened through continuous improvement and feedback
11. Acceptance of the Code
All staff, instructors, contractors, and learners must confirm that they:
- Have read and understood this Code
- Agree to comply with its requirements
- Understand the consequences of non‑compliance
