Paediatric First Aid
Paediatric First Aid
Caring for infants and children in an emergency requires calm decision-making, precise technique and a clear understanding of paediatric-specific risks. These qualifications give learners the skills and confidence to respond effectively, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.
Skills that directly protect children
Designed for those working in childcare, education, community settings, or any environment where children are present, these courses blend practical, scenario-based learning with recognised paediatric first aid protocols. Learners gain the capability to assess situations quickly, deliver age-appropriate interventions, and support the wellbeing of infants and children until professional help arrives.
The programme meets the expectations of employers, regulatory bodies and safeguarding frameworks, ensuring participants are equipped with reliable, real-world skills that directly enhance child safety and organisational compliance.

Standards & recognition
Both awards are regulated QNUK qualifications on the RQF, issued through QNUK (Qualifications Network UK), an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation. The two-day full Paediatric First Aid award meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework and the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements in England — the qualification most early-years settings need on their staff-to-child ratio.
The one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid award covers the core paediatric emergencies. It is suitable for early-years staff provided the setting also has sufficient staff holding the full two-day qualification.
Paediatric First Aid is delivered as part of Britannia Elite’s wider health, safety and first aid provision. To register interest or request group training, contact info@britannia-elite.co.uk.
