Values & Standards
At Britannia Elite, every learner — regardless of background, experience or course level — begins with the same foundation: Values & Standards that shape conduct, professionalism and personal responsibility.
Introduced on Day One, reinforced throughout training, and expected to continue long after learners return to their communities and work roles. Our framework is inspired by the British Army’s long-established ethos, adapted for civilian safety, legal compliance and professional development.
Six values that shape conduct
Integrity
Acting honestly, taking responsibility, and doing the right thing even when unobserved. This builds trust between learners, instructors and the public.
Respect
Treating everyone with dignity, patience and professionalism — regardless of background, ability or experience. Respect strengthens teamwork and communication.
Self-Discipline
Arriving prepared, staying focused and maintaining high personal standards throughout training. Self-discipline supports reliability and competence in real-world situations.
Courage — Everyday Courage
Not physical heroics, but the confidence to:
- Speak up when something is unsafe
- Step forward to help
- Challenge poor practice
- Take responsibility in difficult moments
Commitment
Seeing tasks through, supporting the team and taking pride in learning. Commitment ensures consistent performance and dependable behaviour.
Professionalism
Clear communication, appropriate conduct and a positive attitude. Professionalism is transferable to any environment.
How learners are expected to conduct themselves
- ResponsibilityLearners take ownership of their actions, equipment and learning.
- Safety FirstEvery decision must prioritise the safety of self, team and public.
- Legal & Ethical ConductAll training is delivered within strict civilian-safe boundaries. Unlawful or unsafe behaviour is not tolerated.
- Team CohesionTraining is collaborative — learners support each other and communicate clearly.
- AccountabilityMistakes are part of learning, but accountability is essential for growth.
How these values are embedded in training
Day One Induction
Every course begins with a clear briefing on Values & Standards, expectations and conduct.
Instructor Example
Standards are demonstrated from the top down. Instructors model the behaviour expected of learners.
Scenario-Based Reinforcement
Values are reinforced through realistic, civilian-safe scenarios that test judgement, communication and professionalism.
Continuous Assessment
Learners are evaluated not only on skills, but on conduct, teamwork and adherence to standards.
Carrying these values into the community
Britannia Elite training is designed to produce:
- Safer citizens
- More capable responders
- More reliable employees
- More confident leaders
- More responsible members of the community
These values don’t end when the course ends — they become part of how learners conduct themselves in everyday life.
