Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Britannia Elite is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency and organisational responsibility. This statement sets out the measures we take to prevent exploitation, forced labour and unethical practices across all of our operations and supply chains.
1. Purpose of this statement
This statement sets out Britannia Elite’s approach to identifying, preventing and addressing risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking. It applies to all areas of our organisation — training delivery, operational support, procurement, and any third-party services we engage.
We recognise that modern slavery takes many forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. Our responsibility is to ensure that none of these practices are present within our operations or supply chains, and to maintain clear governance that supports early detection and responsible escalation of concerns.
A voluntary statement
Britannia Elite falls below the £36 million annual turnover threshold at which a statement is mandatory under Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish this statement voluntarily, as a matter of principle and good practice. As an organisation operating in Uganda, we also recognise Uganda’s Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2009, and conduct our activities consistently with both frameworks and with internationally recognised human-rights principles.
2. Organisational structure and areas of risk
Britannia Elite operates within the security training and professional development sector, providing structured guidance, educational content and operational frameworks. While our direct operational footprint is relatively low-risk, we acknowledge that indirect risks may arise through third-party suppliers, digital service providers and contracted support functions.
We therefore maintain a proactive approach to assessing and mitigating potential vulnerabilities, recognising that risks can evolve as supply chains grow, diversify or adapt to new operational requirements.
3. Our commitments
Britannia Elite is committed to:
- Promoting ethical conduct across all organisational activities
- Ensuring that all personnel, contractors and partners understand their responsibilities
- Maintaining transparent and accountable processes
- Supporting fair treatment, safe working conditions and lawful employment practices
- Refusing to engage with any supplier or partner who fails to meet acceptable ethical standards
These commitments guide our approach to risk management and reinforce our expectation that all partners operate with integrity and uphold recognised human-rights principles.
4. Due diligence and supply-chain integrity
We conduct proportionate due diligence on suppliers and partners to ensure they meet recognised ethical and legal standards. This includes:
- Reviewing supplier policies and public statements
- Assessing the nature of services provided
- Ensuring contractual agreements include expectations regarding lawful and ethical conduct
- Monitoring for changes in risk profile over time
Where concerns arise, Britannia Elite will take appropriate action — including seeking clarification, requesting corrective measures, or terminating the relationship. Our due-diligence approach remains flexible and responsive to emerging risks.
5. Training and awareness
We promote awareness of modern slavery indicators within our organisational context. Personnel involved in procurement, partnership development or operational oversight are encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any concerns through appropriate channels. Awareness supports early identification of risks, and we encourage continuous learning by signposting recognised external resources and guidance.
6. Reporting concerns
Any individual associated with Britannia Elite who becomes aware of potential modern slavery risks is encouraged to raise concerns promptly, in confidence, to info@britannia-elite.com. Reports are handled sensitively and reviewed in line with our organisational responsibilities. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
7. Review and continuous improvement
Britannia Elite reviews and strengthens this statement annually, ensuring alignment with UK legislation, Ugandan law, recognised best practice and our evolving organisational responsibilities. We update it as necessary to reflect organisational growth, changes in risk exposure or developments in regulatory guidance.
For recognised guidance, the UK Government provides accessible resources on modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement works alongside our wider governance, human-rights and compliance framework.
